Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

I can’t think of another book that had me feeling so immersed in a city and its culture quite like this.
It took me back to Rome with its rich descriptions of art, food, and nightlife. Every page was brought to life with its aesthetically arousing diction.

I had really high expectations and these two ladies came through in full force. Along with humorous wit and a fervent essence, this second chance romance will take you on an addictive, Roman adventure.

Avery’s reactions and impulses were so on point. I connected with her immediately and saw myself in her behavior. After walking in on her husband boinking his secretary, Avery was lost. She gave up her own life and put her husband’s needs and career first. Needing to start fresh, Avery made the decision to travel to Rome stay with her best friend while gathering up the pieces of her life.

On her journey to find independence once again, she has an unexpected reunion with a lover. He’s not just any lover though. He is Marcello Bianchi, the man who rocked her world nine years ago, and burrowed himself into her heart and soul. He was the one that got away, and their intense history isn’t so much in the past, nor is it something that can be tamed.

Their connection and chemistry was fiery and palpable. I couldn’t stop the smile that spread every time they were together. His charming personality drew me in, and he had me rooting for them to last. These two had something very sexy and very beautiful that was never able to fully flourish. They were destined lovers and their passion will enter your soul.

I really enjoyed the Bocci+Clayton duo, and I think their writing styles complement each other beautifully. I hope to see more from them as a pair, and from Nina Bocci, who is not only a superb publicist, but apparently a fab author, as well. This is a great book to end the summer with a bang. No doubt it’ll inspire you to pack your bags and jet off.

Now if I go to Rome right now…I wonder if I’ll meet my very own Marcello…

Nina Bocci is a novelist, publicist, eternal optimist, unabashed lipgloss enthusiast, constant apologist, and a hopeless romanticist. She has too many college degrees that she’s not using, and a Lego addiction that she blames on her son.

ALICE CLAYTON worked in the cosmetics industry for over a decade before picking up a pen (read laptop).
She enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up, and finally convinced her long-time boyfriend to marry her.
Now, about that Bernese Mountain dog.
