From USA TODAY bestselling author Chantal Fernando comes the latest in her steamy Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club series featuring biker bad boys and the strong women who love them.

Vinnie was once the youngest prospect at the infamous Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club but finally, he’s going to be initiated as a full-fledged member! But when Vinnie (now known as Wolf) puts on that WDMC leather for the first time, little does he know what he’s in for. The Wind Dragons have made enemies, and being a member means being on the front lines…

Wolf’s Mate is a great standalone addition to the Wind Dragons MC series. I haven’t read one of Fernando’s books since the very first book in this series came out, so it was nice to jump back into her MC world. While I have no doubt the reading experience would’ve been better had I read all the books in order, this book can easily be read all on its own. I never felt lost or confused with any of the information thrown my way.

Vinnie is a full-fledged member of the Wind Dragons MC now, but he still has a debt to repay to Talon of the Wild Men MC. His mission is to babysit Talon’s cousin, Shayla. All Vinnie needs to do is last seven days standing guard over her and then he can go on with his life.

I was so into this storyline because there’s no way tension won’t sizzle while cooped up in a house for that long. Vinnie had taken one look at Shayla and knew she was nothing more than a spoiled, bratty princess who would be making his days hell. It was so entertaining to see her prove him wrong. He quickly found that this girl, nay, woman, was not at all what he originally presumed.

The time that they got to know each other while in hiding was thrilling and angsty. There was an obvious instant attraction that only intensified as the days continued. Initially, before even really knowing anything about her, Vinnie felt protective over Shayla. He’s a fiercely loyal man by nature, and I think subconsciously he knew he had to protect this stranger. His character developed nicely over the duration of the novel, and especially after his world was rocked at one point.

Shayla was an incredible heroine. She kept up with Vinnie step for step. She was very much a guy’s girl too with her laid back demeanor and lack of “princess” behavior. She’s not your usual romance novel heroine appearance wise either which was really refreshing.

The characters go through hardships and unexpected situations. They’re not always handled well, but they eventually do get dealt with. It was nice seeing the MC and their female counterparts make so many appearances. It was really beautiful to see the way Shayla clicked with everyone in the Wind Dragons MC. The ladies were all very welcoming and Shayla just fit in so perfectly.

This novel was equally action and romance packed. And don’t worry, there are plenty of alpha men to keep you entertained, as well.
