Release Day ~ Review ☆ Tethered Bond by Emma Hart

Detective Drake Nash: hot, alpha, bossy, and… mine.

Now, if someone could tell his ex that... I don’t care if the summer fayre is coming to Holly Woods and she’s on the planning committee. What I do care about is sugar-filled food, bright lights, late nights… and danger. The type that won’t come in the form of Nonna’s new cantankerous British parrot, Gio. (Please see the damage done to Mom’s new curtains.)

Unfortunately, when the danger comes, it comes in the form of something Holly Woods has never seen. The town is rocked to its core, and once again, I’m in danger. Only this time, it isn’t because of my clients—this time, I’m in danger because of who I am… Because of my heritage.

And despite the HWPD’s best efforts, the bodies keep on piling up.

Drake’s determined to protect me. I’m determined that I can do it myself.

Danger. Mystery. Darkness. Malice.

It’ll be a miracle if any of us make it out of this with guns unfired, cupcakes still frosted, and hearts intact…

Another case in the bag for Detective Nash and Noelle Bond!

I’m really fascinated with this series as it shows a new strength of author Emma Hart. While the stories feature a swoon-worthy leading man and a badass, sassy heroine, the series continues to explore darker and more violent cases.

This third crime case in the series in particular is a lot more sick and twisted than we’ve seen before. Girls begin to disappear in the small town of Holly Woods, Texas. These aren’t just your average disappearances either. Noelle and Drake must join forces once again to find the pattern to these crimes and find the culprit or culprits.

I was in a time crunch with this one and knew I had to read it quickly. Luckily, Hart’s writing is so suspenseful and addictive I had no problem flipping through this book in a day. The mystery is so consuming that I absorbed every little detail and attempted to solve the case right along with the characters.

Drake and Noelle are still at each other’s throats every now and then, but they’re officially official now. So it comes with the territory. Emotions are even higher now with the crazy murders happening in town. Drake’s protective side comes out in full force once they all realize Noelle could be a target. Noelle struggles to ease up on her independence and stubbornness, despite knowing the danger that follows her.

Once again, Nonna (Noelle’s outspoken, Italian grandmother) is a hilarious side character that amps up the comedic moments. This time around, she adds a new member to the Bond family that is, shall we say, very vocal.

This is primarily a mystery and suspense book, but you do get a bundle of comedy and a nibble of romance in it. Anyone looking for a good mystery read should pick this up, but remember that this is book 3 in the Holly Woods Files series and the series does need to be read in order. No worries though! You’ll get a fabulous, enjoyable read with each book.

By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies - usually wine - and writes books.
Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.
She likes to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.
