Genre: Contemporary Romance
Jackson Steele and Sylvia Brooks continue to thrill in the second novel of a scintillating, emotionally charged new trilogy that returns to the world of J. Kenner’s beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me.
I never thought I’d lose control, but his desire took me right to the edge.
Powerful, ambitious, and devastatingly sexy, Jackson Steele was unlike any other man I’d ever known. He went after what he wanted with his whole mind, body, and soul—and I was the woman in his sights. One touch and I surrendered, one night together and I was undone.
Jackson and I had secrets, dark pieces of our pasts that threatened to swallow us both. We couldn’t outrun our demons, or the people trying to tear us apart. But in our passion we found salvation, and in each other’s arms we found release.
I was scared to trust Jackson fully, to finally let go. Yet no matter the dangers that lay ahead, I knew I was his—and now that we’ve laid claim, there’s no more holding back.
On My Knees is intended for mature audiences.

She’d trusted him openly and completely even though her core makeup was to not trust at all. She’d surrendered control even though she didn’t understand how far he might want or need to go.”
I’m a fan of cliffhangers and the one that strikes at the end of this book is incredible!
J. Kenner has created a fictional world that seductively pulls in the reader with its suspenseful and sexy storyline.
Say My Name had a calm ending, but it left me and I’m sure many other readers, with so many questions unanswered. Now, Sylvia and Jackson have life-impacting hurdles to overcome within their relationship. Both still hold secrets from each other that could make or break them. They’re now able to focus on themselves and solidify their intense connection, but it will all come down to how they handle each other’s revelations. On top of that, they soon find out that larger obstacles are upon them and they must unite to get through it all in one piece.
I loved seeing a whole different side of Jackson in this book. He reveals so much of himself and allows for some vulnerability to let loose. His secrets explain his inner turmoil and the guarded walls he keeps in place. I felt a deeper compassion for him now that I know his demons.
He’s very passionate about what and who he loves and that definitely shines through in everything he does and says. His protectiveness over Sylvia is heartwarming, but may eventually ruin him.
Sylvia continues to be such a strong character. She’s been through hell and back, but she keeps her head high despite how difficult it may be to do so. She handles Jackson so well and feels a lot more comfortable with him in their new relationship. She has to face certain truths that will put her and Jackson’s relationship into perspective.
This second book in the series manages to escape the curse of the middle book, and actually provides more depth to the characters and their story. Kenner builds up the drama and tension at a steady pace and delivers the resolution in a timely manner.
This story has plenty more secrets and surprises in store for readers and I can’t wait to be shocked by them.
