RELEASE DATE: JUNE 16
In the second novel in bestselling author Caisey Quinn’s Neon Dreams series, a country rock band and its members embark on the rocky road to fame and find love along the way.
Dallas Lark is so close to achieving his dream of making it big in country music that he can taste it. Arriving in Nashville after signing with sexy, successful manager Mandy Lantram, his life goes from tragedy and turmoil to one lucky break after another—except it isn’t really luck because Dallas has sacrificed everything for his career, leaving behind his band, sister, best friend, and high school sweetheart, Robyn, in the pursuit of fame.
Robyn Breeland is a successful marketing coordinator and promotions specialist for a thriving liquor distributor out of Texas. She loves every aspect of her job: coming up with new ideas, traveling, hosting promotional parties and exclusive events—until it brings her face-to-face with the man who broke her heart, prompting her to erect a steel cage around it.
When their paths collide and they’re forced to work together, Dallas and Robyn realize that the old spark they thought they’d extinguished might still be a burning
Handing over my boarding pass, I adjust the guitar on my back and take the first step toward a neon dream I’ve been chasing for as long as I can remember. I knew I’d get here one day—I just didn’t expect to be alone.”
Loving Dallas follows Dallas and Robyn on their way through second chances and a dream-filled journey.
Dallas Lark is finally getting his big break in the music industry. Under the much flashier name Dallas Walker, he hops on board the popular Jase Wade tour.
Robyn’s company has scored the job in promoting Jase Wade’s tour and she’s thrilled to finally get her chance at proving herself within the company.
What neither of them expect is to see the other on the same tour. Their strong high school love that came to a halting crash years ago, is suddenly becoming the elephant in the room.
Knowing they both have unresolved issues and feelings to air out, they do the adult thing and talk it out right away. But some things can’t be expressed so easily and seeing each other for the duration of the tour will prove to be eventful and enlightening.
I’m still me, Robyn. No matter what’s changed between us, I’m still me.”
Dallas and Robyn obviously had high tension between them and things they seriously needed to work out, but the connection they held was so clearly present. The years had no power over the deep bond they once shared.
The banter was comical and sexy, and the physical attraction was as hot as ever.
I can’t express how much I relished in the fact that they communicated right from the start. Though secrets were still being kept after their initial meeting, they aired out a lot of their issues when they first realized they’d be working alongside each other. Even though we don’t really see their once thriving relationship, the underlying love and friendship they share for one another is so palpable that it’s easy to believe these two were once madly in love.
Their effortless moments of talking and listening to each other made their relationship that much more adorable.
The last quarter or so of the book was surprisingly intense. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what the outcome for those two would be. This story will definitely keep you charmed with every turn of the page.
I wasn’t able to read Leaving Amarillo before starting Dallas’ story, but that in no way hindered my reading experience. There are some moments that I believe had to do with book one, but it didn’t confuse nor distract me from Leaving Dallas. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a music based, second chance story with a little country twang. I was pleasantly surprised by this novel and really adored every aspect of it.
Caisey Quinn lives in Birmingham, Alabama. She is the bestselling author of the Kylie Ryans series as well as several New Adult and Contemporary Romance novels featuring southern girls finding love in unexpected places.
