Her story began long before she started working at The Sky Launch...

Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. She’s content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclub—Eighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isn’t a happily ever after. She doesn’t believe in those anyway.

Then she meets J.C.

The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but she’s not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, it’s J.C. who’s there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated.

Gwen discovers there’s a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilarating—and terrifying. When she starts to feel something for J.C., she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don't want to set him free.

BOOK ONE OF TWO. This series can be read alone or with the Fixed Trilogy.

Find Me
Releasing August 25, 2015

Gwen and her siblings have had a dark, abusive history with their father. Living the only way she could, Gwen keeps to herself and has a meticulous routine. Because of this, she often comes off as prudish and uptight. Her reserved way of living quickly changes when she meets JC one night.
Renting out one of the rooms at the nightclub she manages, JC couldn’t have foreseen that he’d meet his challenge in Gwen that very night.

Wanting this challenging vixen in his bed becomes his priority, and luckily for him, Gwen obliges to his strictly sex arrangement. Sensing that that is exactly what she needs to spark up her life, she’s ready to indulge in this irresistible businessman.

Suddenly Gwen realizes that romantic feelings have pulled the rug out from under her. She’s starting to crave JC in more ways than just sexual. She may not have believed in love prior to meeting JC, but she begins to consider that it may have snuck up on her.
As much as she connects with him, Gwen isn’t oblivious to the omissions and secrets JC holds tight to.
While deciding what to do with her feelings for JC, Gwen also has troubling family issues that she can’t seem to shake.

I listened to this story on audio and was utterly captivated with the narration. Tanya Eby narrated this book and enraptured me with her emotional tones and voice changes. It made the 10+ hours go by in a flash.

I really loved Gwen and the family love between her and her brother and sister. It was heartwarming to see the closeness they all shared and how much they cared for one another no matter what. Gwen’s character showed great development throughout the book. She exuded strength, but also had that vulnerability that reminded me just how human and fragile she could be.
JC on the other hand was a bit tougher to love. He had some highs and lows—more of the latter for me—that had me teetering between love and hate for him. His actions toward the end of the book made me especially disappointed in him. Though his mysterious past was revealed nicely and flowed into the story line well.

I’m sat here nail biting over the next book, because I need to know where their story leads next! With the emotional final encounter between them and ominous end, there’s no way I couldn’t be invested in their story. This story has a lot of heart and familial love which you don’t really expect with a steamy romance. I recommend this to you if you’re looking for a bit of mystery and angst, and a pinch of hot romance.
Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
