Lola Winters’ heart already belongs to Johnny, but for him, she’d sell the devil her soul. Unfortunately, the devil wants something else.
Beau Olivier is the kind of wealthy that buys anything—even people. When he makes Lola a proposition, she finds herself tempted into a seduction that will have her walking the line between comfort and humiliation, desire and resistance.
He would own her—for one night.
She would be his—for a price.
It was wrong. It was scandalous. It was the opportunity of a lifetime.
Sex, music, neon on the Sunset Strip—right in the middle of it all, he would have her. Come sunrise, he would let her go.
At least, that was the plan.
Lola Winters is a waitress and assistant manager of Hey Joe, the has-been of nightlife hot spots in Los Angeles. It’s just not bringing in the clientele like it used to. The owner ready to sell, everyone’s worried about their jobs and the future of the actual bar. Johnny’s always dreamed of owning his own bar and Hey Joe would be perfect. They live from paycheck-to-paycheck and are both tired of living like that and want more for themselves. If they don’t find a way to get it under their ownership, it’ll end up being bought out by someone who’ll turn it into a fancy, douchey lounge bar.

In walks Beau Olivier, Mr. Smooth Operator. He’s out of place in his fine business suit and high roller vibe. Lola and the rest of the crew are intrigued by him, but little do they know, Beau’s going to make them an offer they just can’t refuse. No matter how much they try.

The second he laid eyes on her and saw her feisty personality, Beau knew he had to have her. He wouldn’t let anything get in his way of spending the night with her. Not even her boyfriend. Or her flat out rejection.
He learns of Lola and Johnny’s desire to own Hey Joe, so he proposes a deal in which they’ll get quite a large sum of money to buy the bar and then some, and he’ll get something he desires. The object of his desire? Lola.

She loves her boyfriend and there’s no way she could cheat on him, even if said boyfriend actually knows about it and gives her the okay. Lola’s kidding herself though. She may love Johnny dearly, which is why she’s appalled by this stranger’s proposition, but there’s also a part of her that is undeniably attracted to him and what he says. Which is part of the reason she’s so eager to decline Beau’s offer. She’s afraid of what she’s feeling towards this debonair stranger.

What will happen when Johnny says yes. When Lola says yes. When Beau says,
 I own you.
Jessica Hawkins, my goodness woman! This book was sexy and drool-worthy beyond belief. It wasn’t overly sexual, but the eye of the story was what kept me captivated. The idea of this handsome, powerful stranger coming into your world and wanting you is, for lack of a better word, HOT.
Then there are those scenes where Beau does throw some sexy goodness out of his mouth, and it makes you go “awooogah!” That is after you’ve regained all motor skills, had a change of panties, and picked your jaw off the ground, of course.

The sex scenes in this book are perfection. I can’t even explain how amazing they are. Arousing moments that slowly captivate you and then wham!—climax of the century. Beau teases and makes us wait for a while and then the strip club scene happens. OMG! Then the rest of the night continues on and… *melts*.

Technically there is cheating in this book, but everyone is in the know so it’s a difficult situation. I found myself cheering her on and wanting her to be with Beau. Despite everything I loved Lola and I loved Beau, and I just wanted her to really take a look at her life and think about what she truly wanted.
She’s sassy and headstrong and certainly poses a challenge for Beau. He enjoys that about her, but still infuriates him and turns stand-offish. Beau’s possessive in just the right way and he’s suave in everything he does. I loved the way he built her up whenever she talked negatively about herself or confessed to feeling cheap and worthless.
I had this strange feeling there’s more to Beau than meets the eye and definitely more to him than what we learned in this first installment.

Sad to say this is my first exposure to Jessica Hawkins’ writing, but I’m already hooked. She was so descriptive, but the right amount of it. It allowed me to easily visualize what was happening and saw it play out in my head like a film. The dialogue, which can sometimes be a bit staccato in books, was wonderfully written. Every single word had me bewitched.
This series kicked off with a bang! It does end on a cliffhanger of sorts, and you’re left wondering what’s next, if anything at all, for Lola & Beau. Looking forward to seeing where the journey goes for these two.
I can easily see this being optioned for a film. Highly recommend starting this serial as soon as possible!

With their dream within grasp, Johnny and Lola make an offer on Hey Joe--only to discover that a million dollars doesn't go as far as they'd thought. As the price of the bar rises and expenses pile up, Lola begins to question what she really wants.
Lola knows she can solve their problems with one phone call, but she may risk going too far to have it all. Because she's not dealing with just anyone--she's dealing with a master. For Beau Olivier, there's no such thing as too far. There is only conquest. There is only victory.
Beau and Lola already had their night together, but it wasn't enough. They need more. And the more they need. The more they have to lose.
"Give me that too, Lola. Something no one else has. When I'm inside you tonight, when I take you, I want to know something about you he doesn't."

Beau , alpha extraordinaire. He keeps turning the heat up and this book is scorching hot!
So this is book two, the second round for Lola and Beau. Last we saw, the arrangement had come to a close and they went their separate ways. The end… Yeah, right!

Beau proposed a continuation to their steamy business pact. Lola was able to go through with it once for the sake of the bar, but can’t fathom doing it again, even though more money would mean more possibilities for the business. Not to mention more possibilities to slap skin with the insatiable Beau. As wrong as it is, Lola can’t deny how strong their connection is, but can she possibly say yes to his proposal? Out of the question though, because her boyfriend Johnny wouldn’t even consider the idea let alone agree, right?

"I'm here tonight because I want to be," Lola said. ...."I'm here because every way you touched me last time was the right way and because it meant something to me."

We see Beau and Lola start to open up to each other more. Lola, whether she likes it or not, comes to the realization that she can no longer keep her feelings locked away. She begins to truly trust Beau with more than just her body.
I was shocked by the twist in this book. I never saw it coming and it came at me like a semi-truck. All of my feelings for Beau did a 180 and I was livid, yet impressed by his level of planned deceit.

Jessica Hawkins knocked it out of the park with Night Call. I felt more connected with the characters and could level with them. The writing improved so much and that’s saying a lot considering Hawkins was already incredible to begin with. I’m at a loss as to what is next in this serial. I’m sure Lola is going to do something equally shocking next time we see her. I’m eagerly looking forward to the final installment in the series.
