✭Book Review: Reflect Me by K.B. Webb
If you're looking for a story about a sweet, innocent virgin who rides off into the sunset with a reformed bad boy, then you're looking in the wrong place.
Some people don’t get a happily ever after. Molly Scott is one of those people, and she knows it. With the kind of past that she has, and the secrets that she holds, she knows that even if she found Prince Charming, he wouldn’t want her. She refuses to dwell on her less than ideal situation though. This is her life, no point in complaining.
Logan Wade had his life planned out, until all his dreams came crashing down around him. Now, he’s come back to the town he swore he would never see again to start fresh. He has no plans to ever settle down again, that’s how he ended up back here in the first place.
When Molly and Logan meet, they are forced to rethink the lives they thought they knew and the futures they were so sure they wanted. Suddenly, Molly wonders if there is a better life outside of the hell she has built for herself, and Logan begins to rethink his resistance towards settling down again.
They say love conquers all, but Molly and Logan are about to find out that sometimes love just isn’t enough.
I felt that this was a great read!
There was so much turmoil in Molly's life that it made her very insecure in her relationship. Yes she is a spitfire who is not very shy and can hold a note when she sings, but she just did not love herself enough to see all the damage she had in her life.
Molly is holding on to a secret that is causing all this destruction in her life. She allows her boyfriend and father of her child Brian, to berate and abuse her both mentally & physically. Molly honestly believes that her relationship is the only kind that she can have.
As you read on you meet Wynee, her closest and long time friend. Wynee, is always encouraging and insisting that Molly needs to let go of her past demons. She really is a great friend.
Now we meet Logan, oh my Logan. He is Brian's long time childhood friend that is just HOT!!! Even Moly can’t help seeing how hot he is.
My favorite dialogue in the book is when she hears his voice:
“Nice to meet you, Molly,” Logan spoke, and I lost it a little more. His voice was like velvet, smooth. I realized at that moment, I could listen to him read the phone book and I would love every minute of it.
Ok, Ok, back to the story.
Logan knows that Molly is totally off limits, but he does insist on becoming close "friends" to keep himself close to her. As they both fight these feelings that are just to strong to ignore, they continue to grow close as friends.
Will Molly finally see through Logan's eyes that she is worthy of much more than what she is living in?
Let me just say this, without spoiling the book completely, that real love has a way of erasing and resetting any and all doubts you have in your heart.
