Blog Tour: Ignited (Most Wanted #3) by J. Kenner +ARC Review & Giveaway
My whole life has been a cover, a con, a lie. I was born into the grift, raised on the thrill of playing someone I’m not. As a rule, I never let anyone get too close—until Cole August makes it impossible for me to stay away.
Cole is tough, sexy, and intensely loyal, yet his secrets are dark and his scars run deep. Not many women can handle his past, or the truth behind his fierce demands. But something about him beckons me—and our desire is a game I must play.
I know he’s dangerous, that even his touch is trouble, but what is passion without a little risk?

”It’s okay,” I said, my voice almost a whisper. “I won’t break.”
“Don’t be so sure, blondie. I’ve been known to destroy even the most resilient things.”
The Most Wanted series closes out with Ignited, the story of Cole and Katrina.
An ex-gangster and a not so ex-con artist.
When comparing the three leading men, Cole is the most damaged and has quite the traumatic past.
He has a mysterious and dangerous quality about him. To the point where he sits right on the divide between bad boy and frightening. He has this rage inside him that fights to be released, but he contains it all well, despite what he may believe.
Those things are just half of the intrigue to Cole and part of the reason that Kat has been so enchanted by him.
Cole thinks he has no self-control and his demons pose a problem. Which is why he's set on keeping Katrina at arms length.
Katrina's plan is to make him see just how wrong he is, and just how right they are together.
“He was taking care of me, dressing me, cherishing me. There was control, yes, but there was also a sweet sensuality to the moment. I thought about that, about the dichotomy of this intense feeling of warmth and safety juxtaposed against the pain and pleasure of the spanking and the pinching.”
J. Kenner is one of those authors that I automatically add to my reading list. No questions asked. I love the way each of her books can stand apart from one another and nothing ever seems repeated.
That being said, some aspects of this particular book seemed a bit recycled.
I managed to connect with these characters, the sex scenes were hot and unique every time, but the story itself fell a bit flat. Nothing very climatic ever really happened, which is something I expect from the author and this series. The ending could've been dragged some more so that we could have more of a nail-biting moment.
The characters intensity and draw toward each other is what really kept me glued to this story as opposed to any outside plot points. I loved reading the way Katrina kept herself determined to make Cole see the good man he truly was. She brought it out of him and never gave up when he tried pulling away.
J. Kenner continues to exude brilliance through her excellent writing. Regardless of my minuscule critique, I still enjoyed this story very much.
