❤︎Review:
#OMGJimmy
“Everything he was, I loved, and it left me feeling utterly helpless.”

Jimmy Ferris was never given a proper, loving childhood with that awful mother of his. The one person who ever showed him kindness and the way a mother is truly supposed to act, was his bandmate Mal’s, mom. Jimmy’s world started to crumble a long time ago and it hasn’t really stopped since then.
Booze and drugs and the wild rock star lifestyle has sent Jimmy spiraling out of control. His sobriety companions haven’t been able to handle him and Stage Dive is looking for a new one for Jimmy.

Enter, Lena Morrissey. She’s witty, smart, headstrong, but more importantly she’s capable of handling Jimmy. She’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind and stand toe to toe with Jimmy. She couldn’t care less about his rick star label, she treats him like any other human being. Which is something Jimmy really needs in order to remain stable.
One thing she didn’t expect was for love to blossom. Lena begins to feel attracted to Jimmy physically, emotionally and mentally. She knows better than anyone that he isn’t the type that does relationships.

Knowing her feelings can lead down a heart-breaking path, Lena starts to consider if taking on the job as Jimmy Ferris’ sobriety companion was a good idea.

“Don’t hate me, Lena,” he whispered. “You want to be mad at me when I do dumb things, that’s fine. But don’t ever hate me. I couldn’t take that, not from you.”

Jimmy is a babe! After you get past the whole douchey attitude, you can clearly see how lovable and sweet he can really be. Lead , allows us to push through his negativity and rudeness, and get to the bottom of why he is that way. Once his walls started to come down, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. His entire situation is heart shattering and I wanted nothing more than to make him believe he was worthy of love.
He was a tough cookie to crack. Like Lena, I could never tell what he was thinking or feeling. He closed off his emotions and rarely let anyone in. I had no idea when exactly he began feeling something for Lena.

My poor, dear Lena. It broke my heart to read her struggles and frustrations with Jimmy. While Lena was the one Jimmy confided in the most, even she didn’t get everything from him. His constant curtness and rejection to her feelings was saddening. Yet, Lena was a tough woman and she was determined to be there for Jimmy; even if he didn’t want to be with her.

I went up on one elbow, nerves buzzing in my head. “What are you doing now?”
“What people do at tables.” Strong hands held my legs apart. “Eating.”
My stomach dipped. “Oh, god.”
His head disappeared beneath my skirt.
Jimmy Ferris seriously did not mess around.

Their back-and-forth sarcastic banter was so fun to read through. I really love the way this story slowly built up. It took time to get to the happy ending, but it enables you to really dig deep into their relationship. Once they finally admitted the truth to themselves… it was celestial!
I enjoyed the fact that aside from the sexy, romance aspect of the story, the friendship between the two was a huge focus as well. There are many touching moments where you see Jimmy break down or doubt himself and Lena’s there to help him through it and pick him back up. Though it may not be as obvious, Jimmy also helped Lena in many ways. She was already pretty comfortable with her curvaceous body, but Jimmy made her feel like a goddess. He also managed to reinstate her faith in the male species. He helped her get back in touch with her single lifestyle and Lena was able to break out of her shell.

One of the best books I’ve read this year and another great addition to the Stage Dive series. Jimmy and Lena might even take the number one spot on your favorite couple list from the other Stage Dive couples.

“You’re doing it again!” Jimmy stopped mid push-up, sweat dripping off his handsome face. “I’m not imagining it. You’re fucking doing it again.”
“Hmm?” I replied calmly, sitting at the kitchen counter. Black and white Italian marble. Only the best would do for Jimmy. His house was expensively luxuriously austere. Three levels of stark grey walls on the outside and black and white décor within. It basically looked like a post-modernist had thrown up in here and the decorator decided to call it a day. As if a splash of color would kill anyone.
“You are looking at me weird all the time.”
“No, I’m sorting your email. A different thing entirely.” I pried my gaze off his hot (in every sense of the word) body and returned it to the laptop. “Oh, look. Lingerie Girl has sent you another picture. A demi-bra this time. Hot pink with tassels. I think the tassels are a nice touch. She’s even attached a video of her making them swing. So thoughtful.”
“Delete it.”
“But what if she says something important?”
“She’s a complete stranger sending me pictures of herself nearly naked dancing and bending over furniture.”
I hummed. “Yes, today we have a washing machine. Very sexy in a domestic erotica sort of way. A powerful statement about feminism, I think. This woman is deep.”
“Right.” He resumed his exercising. “This woman is not gonna say anything I need to hear.”
I watched. “Some of your fans are loco. Luckily, others are just delightful.”
A grunt.
The problem with the push-up lay within the way it pretty much mimicked the act of sex. (Lay. Heh.) All the sweating, straining and up and down of the pelvic region. It was disgusting. Shouldn’t be allowed. Sweat darkened the thin cotton of his shirt. The material stuck to him outlining every muscle. Man, he had a lot of them. His arms for instance…
“Lena!”
“What?”
“Stop it.”
My mouth slammed shut.
“You’re watching me all the time and it’s fucking creepy. I can’t take it anymore.”
Oh God, he was right.
