Synopsis

"Have you heard the saying, 'sex sells'? Well, I'm the supplier."

Finnley Felton sells sex.
Jennifer Downs is a virgin.
With the help of lady luck, the two meet.

Money. Bright lights. Sex.

Jennifer is made an offer: sell her virginity to the highest bidder and transform into one of Finnley's girls. But she finds herself weak for him, and doesn't fully realize what she's agreed to until it's too late.

Will she rise to the challenge and play by the rules in a land where money is king and love is prohibited? Or will she lose herself and values in the attempt?

Weak for him is not considered a "dark" read, but does have unlady-like language, adult subject matter, and s-e-x-ual situations. Weak for Him does not have a cliffhanger. There is resolution but the story does continue on.

My Review:

"But the fact that you are standing here proves that you've got an inkling of a wild side."

Jennifer Downs is a twenty two year old that has moved to Las Vegas to have a fresh start. She wants distance from her hometown of Texas, which holds memories of her parents who passed away tragically. She has a great accountant job interview lined up and is eager to begin her new Vegas life.

Sadly, Jennifer never gets the chance to interview, because she's one minute late. Her promising Vegas life comes to an abrupt halt.

Finnley Felton is a wealthy business man. A seller of sex. He runs an elite escort service.
And he has an eye on Jennifer. He offers her the opportunity to work as one of his elite girls.

Jennifer instantly lusts after Finn and being the virgin she is, her raging hormones awake whenever he's near. That virginity is exactly why he wants her. Although, he himself doesn't want to take it. He wants to put that up for sale to the highest bidder.

Luke, a client at the escort service, was sweet and romantic. The complete opposite of Finnley. He ends up partnered with Jennifer, and they immediately hit it off. He begins to develop feelings for Jennifer, because he can see how different she is from all other women he's encountered. I thought he would be a good choice for her, yet I still rooted for Finn.

Many times I grew annoyed with Finnley, simply because it was obvious how much he was into Jennifer and he fought it so hard. His resistance was understandable though, because he's gone through a tragic loss as well. His hot and cold attitude didn't keep me from falling for the man though. He was charming when he let his feelings and desire for Jennifer be revealed. Those two were so ridiculously hot and the sexual tension drove me crazy. Finnley is constantly getting Jennifer all hot and bothered and then suddenly backs away. You'll be feeling deprived just as much as Jennifer! Don't worry though, she can hold her own and knows how to get payback. ;)

There were times where I didn't like certain aspects of the book, and I questioned whether I actually liked it. Even when I finished the book, I wasn't exactly sure what to rate it.

The thing that threw me off was Jennifer's best friend. She makes an appearance toward the end of the story and her actions were confusing to me. She does something so random and hypocritical that I wanted to beat the crap out of her. I didn't really understand why she did what she did and then how things were handled/explained afterward.

Another thing that seemed odd was Jennifer's eagerness to sell her virginity. I understand she wanted Finn and maybe wanted to get closer to him and please him. I get that she's a virgin and wants to experience sex already, but to agree to sell it was a weird choice.

The ending isn't necessarily a cliffhanger, but there is certainly more to the story. Fans get more from Finnley and Jennifer!

Lyra Parish did a great job with this debut novel. The blurb sold me on this book and I was eager to get to the heart of this story. I especially loved the fact that it shows a virgin that's not so innocent. People always assume those two things are bound to each other, but that's definitely not the case.
I'm excited to continue following this author's work and this series.

I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, steamy romance. You'll be drooling over Mr. Felton in no time!

About the Author

Lyra Parish loves to write, travel, and sing obnoxiously loud at the top of her lungs in the shower. Sweet love stories (along with the dirty ones) make her gush.
She is a firm believer that a person can never have to many cats, cups of coffee, or read to many happily ever after's. When she isn't busy writing, she can be found sipping various beverages from her non-alcoholic drink buffet, pimp slapping excel spreadsheets, or riding her bike.

Weak for Him (Weakness #1) is Lyra's debut novel. Weak Without Him (Weakness #2) will release Spring 2014. Lyra currently resides in Texas with her husband and black cat.
