Synopsis

I am not a slut, although I’ve been called one often enough. Yeah, I spent three months screwing one of my college professors, but I was crazy about the guy. Then he broke up with me.

I am not a bitch, although people like to say I am. I kept our relationship secret. I’m not responsible for telling the university administrators about it, but a lot of students still blame me for getting their favorite professor fired.

I am not a drama queen, although everyone thinks I am now. When I got a few nasty messages, I just deleted them. When I got the threat, I assumed it was someone being stupid. I still think that’s all it was. My parents worry, though, so they hired me a bodyguard. Now Jack follows me around, intimidating everyone who approaches me and looking obnoxiously hot.

This is what I am. I’m Chloe. I’m a twenty-year-old art history major. Kind of shy, although I pretend not to be. Stubborn enough to stay here for my senior year, even though everyone hates me.

And I’m stuck with Jack.

He calls me “Princess,” but I’m not a princess either.
My Review:

The previous school year, Chloe slept with her professor. Now she's dealing with the consequences. After said professor is fired, Chloe is targeted and blamed by just about every student on campus for losing their favorite professor. Nasty comments, disgusting websites, and death stares are slowly chipping away at the tough and confident exterior she's put up. Chloe's parents are worried for her safety so they hire a body guard to be at her side at all times. Enter Jack. Handsome, rugged, serious about his job, but clearly plagued by something in his past. Plus, he's completely and instantly blown away by Chloe.

They both fight their attraction toward each other which gives way to some funny moments and dialogue. The story was pretty fast paced although it takes place over an entire semester. The writing style of Rachel Curtis was easy to read and flowed nicely.
Overall, it was a cute story that just had me begging for more of a connection with the characters.
We get an epilogue at the end and it is one heck of cliffy. All seems to be coming to a nice wrap up and then we get a little bit of a bomb dropped on us. Clearly there is more of Jack and Chloe's relationship. Judging from that ending, it's going to be filled with a few obstacles.
