Synopsis:
Sex is all I have ever known.
It started at an early age, and never stopped.
Men, women, threesomes, foursomes, orgies. Fuck it, whatever goes.

Twenty eight years old and nothing to show for my life but a fat bank account, and an impressive porn catalogue; all featuring yours truly; Starburst Bloom.

I'm at a crossroads, and I have a choice to make. I choose salvation.
I choose life. I choose myself, for the first time ever.

I will find her. I will find the life I was forced to give up.
I just pray that he stays out of my way.

❥My Review:
After countless benders and mistakes, Starburst Bloom has finally had enough. She wants out of the porn business. She wants to be clean and sober. She needs to change. For her herself. For her daughter.

In search of the baby girl she was forced to give up 11 years ago, Star travels back to her hometown of Woodstock. Her first night back, she meets new people that quickly become the closest thing she's ever had to family. One of those people, is Chrome, Sergeant at Arms of the Hell's Renegade Motorcycle Club. Star doesn't need a distraction, but Chrome brings out foreign feelings in her that she can't seem to ignore.

Normally I would be annoyed by the whole insta-love going on, but in this case I don't think I've ever been more okay with it. The way they affect and heal each other is clearly expressed. Chrome and Stars' relationship is molded so perfectly. They're both screwed up. They're both trouble in their own ways. And they're perfect for one another because of it.

After reading Hers, I was desperate for Star to get her act together. I didn't hat her, I simply felt immense pity for her. The person she was at that point in time wasn't due to her failures, but rather the negative people around her. I wanted to read her story, and see her grow into the person she should've become.

Star's story is so raw and distressing. Little by little she lets people in and finds new ways to make herself a better person. I loved seeing her transition back into a positive and hopeful soul. We definitely get to see a different side of Star. But that's not to say she's still not a little sexual deviant.
The sex scenes with her and Chrome.. *Sizzling sound*

"You can take the girl out of the porn, but you can't take the porn out of the girl."

There was a hitch within the story for me. I was surprised to see Star, the coke addict. In Hers, I simply saw her as an issue-filled woman using sex as an escape. Finding out she was a porn star who was hooked on coke sort of came out of left field. The problem for me was that Star barely had any hiccups after dropping the drugs. She clearly had a long history of using and going to rehab, but if I recall correctly, she only mentioned itching a little for the coke once, maybe twice. Withdrawals are intense and extremely unpleasant, yet I didn't see Star going through any of it.

Despite that aspect, Star's story was an amazing read. Although I still think there is so much more of it, Dawn did a fantastic job of taking us on this enlightening journey that Star travels. I recommend not only this book but the entire series. Dawn always manages to create a lovely balance between powerful storytelling and sexy romance.
